Barefoot Belief: “Hope” Romans 15:13

Filed under: Pastor John's Sermons — John Walker @ 3:12 pm

Barefoot Belief: A series that runs barefoot through those often-confusing things we experience in life. When you take off your shoes and socks you can really feel what’s under you. What you are touching. We want to get our toes down into it and really feel out the texture of what confronts us every day.  Things like hope, doubt, fear, anger, hate, pride, anxiety, depression. Does the Bible really talk about these things? Does God really care about what I’m feeling? Let’s find out together.

Growing Faith Part 9: “The Prayer of Faith” James 5:13-20

Filed under: Pastor John's Sermons — John Walker @ 3:01 pm

Father’s Day: “Our Father’s Love” 1 John 3:1

Filed under: Pastor John's Sermons — John Walker @ 2:34 pm

When we come to faith in Jesus, we are called “Children of God.” The Bible tells us that God has “lavished” his love on us. That means he’s given us so much love we can hardly contain it all. When we open our hearts to God’s love it overflows to bless others. In love, our father in heaven gives us great gifts. Come and hear about some of them this Sunday.

Patience is a very difficult thing in the life of the believer. When we are going through suffering or waiting for relief it is especially hard. But patiently pushing on in God’s strength produces fruit that God grows in your life. God can take something terrible and use it to make you into something beautiful.

“You can’t Take It With You” James 5:1-6

Filed under: Pastor John's Sermons — John Walker @ 4:49 pm

The rich farmers James is addressing people who behave as if money will see them through the end of life into the beyond. They do it at the expense of their workers, not paying their wages and essentially keeping them poor. But in the end, they get what they deserve in a “what goes around, comes around” way. God’s law of reaping and sowing takes care of the oppressive rich. But what about us? Do we try to take it with us? Are we properly prepared for the end of life?
